SYMPHONY
"It is impossible to pinpoint the exact elements of her artistry that transformed a typical concert into a unique and intimate evening for both audience and orchestra members. Paula is a born artist! Her natural warmth conveyed through her singing as well as her tremendous presence totally captivated the audience throughout the evening. Her voice is inviting and exotic
She speaks to everyone, and all are touched by her sincere and direct message." Thomas Elefant, Music Director/Conductor, Richmond (Indiana) Symphony Orchestra, 1985-97
For me, to perform Latin American music accompanied by a symphony orchestra is the most exciting experience ever.
To hear the simple music of the countryside played with the sound of classical instruments is a magnificent and divine combination. To present this music in this very special way is a treat of beauty, enchantment, and an unforgettable moment.
It's a pleasure not only for the audience to listen to, but also a pleasure for the musicians of the orchestra to be able to transport themselves through melodies of nostalgia, courage, sincere poetry and lively rhythms. These concerts invite a large group of people, often those who have never attended a symphony concert before, to feel the excitement of listening to Latin American music in a concert hall atmosphere, visiting different countries, imagining those peoples and places through it's music.
